Why Is It Important To Floss?

Gresham locals, you should floss every day. Flossing helps get rid of the food particles that would otherwise remain stuck between your teeth, contributing to the growth of bad mouth bacteria and tooth decay. Be sure to floss at least once a day after brushing your teeth.

How Do I Floss Properly?

It is important to use enough floss when flossing your teeth. You’ll need a piece that is about 18-24 inches long. You’ll wind the loose ends of the floss around your fingers while leaving about 1-2 inches free to floss with. The overall length of the floss will ensure that you have enough floss to use a clean section each time you move to a new area.

Press the floss gently between your teeth, they move the floss up and down each side of each tooth. Be careful not to press the floss into your gums because this can cause bruising or scratching on your gums. Be sure to clean between each set of teeth, cleaning both sides of each tooth. Finish by rinsing your mouth!
